Power bar recalled due to electric shock

First Published:

Health Canada is recalling the Mastercraft 8-Outlet metal power bar due to the risk of electric shock. The Canadian Tire product number is 052-9632

The recall includes all units manufactured prior to and including October 2020. The dates can be found on the packaging near the barcode and on the back of the unit.

Health Canada says the black plastic caps covering the receptacles can come off when unplugging the cord exposing internal components, posing a risk of shock. There have been no reports of injuries.

The company reported 8197 units were sold in Canada between December 2019 to December 2020.

For more information, consumers may contact Canadian Tire at 1-800-387-8803
