Possible lead in Niagara torso case

First Published:

New York State police are investigating a new possible lead in the Niagara torso case.

The family of 30 year old Loretta Gates from Niagara Falls, New York have submitted DNA samples to police to see if the torso found in the Niagara River last week is hers.

The mother of three was last seen on August 25th.

Police say they should have the DNA results Thursday or Friday, adding that Gates fits the profile of the victim.

Meanwhile, Niagara police have suspended the ground and water search for further clues relating to the torso, until new evidence comes to light.
