Niagara police have arrested two teenagers after they allegedly tried to run over and shoot at BMX cyclists before colliding with another vehicle.
Police responded to the intersection of East Main St. near Duncan St. just after 8:30 p.m. on Friday for a motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, police determined that a white 2015 Nissan Vera was driving “erratically” when it struck another vehicle.
Police say the two occupants of the Nissan fled the scene to a nearby residence and were both arrested.
At this time, officers say a witness came forward and reported that the two occupants of the Nissan were seen shooting at and attempting to run over two unknown men riding BMX bicycles before the collision.
Police say the cyclists have yet to be identified and are encouraged to contact police.

The force obtained two search warrants. They first searched a home on Crowland Ave. and found a 12-gauge double barrel shotgun and a single shot .22 caliber credit card sized firearm.
Police say a third suspect, who was inside the home at the time of the search warrant was also arrested.
Investigators executed the second search warrant on the seized Nissan, which resulted in the recovery of two pellet guns, pellets, and dog repellent.
Harry James Robert Higson, 35, of Welland, who was inside the Crowland Ave. home is facing two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device and firearm related charges.
Police say the two boys inside the Nissan are 17 and 16 years of age and cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act
They’re both facing a slew of firearm related charges.
