Police say fatal weekend house fire in Brantford was accidental

Brantford police say a fatal fire at a home on White Owl Crescent this weekend has been ruled accidental.

Emergency crews were called to a fire in the second storey of the home on Saturday morning.

Fire crews found a rescued a woman from inside. The 58-year-old woman died a short time later.

Investigators and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office looking into the cause of the fire have ruled it to be accidental.

Police say the woman died as a result of smoke inhalation. They will not be releasing her identity.
