Police looking for witnesses following violent attack in Hamilton’s east end

Hamilton Police are asking for help following a violent attack in the city’s East End early this morning.

Police were called to the area of Main Street East and Prospect Street South around 3:30 this morning.

They say two men in their early 20’s were involved in an altercation with a man and woman when they were allegedly assaulted with a weapon.

Police say one man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released. The second man did not need treatment.

It is unclear what type of weapon was used or what led to the attack.
