Police looking for witnesses of a sexual assault at Hamilton park

On Sunday, June 28 shortly after 3:30 p.m., a mother and her four-year-old daughter were at Hampton Park, located in the area of Lupin Avenue and East 44th St in Hamilton, when they were approached by an unknown male.

Police say the man initiated a conversation with the woman and put his arm around her and attempted to kiss her. He then picked up the child and made comments about liking women with children. The mother was able to retrieve her children and the man walked away.

At the time of the incident, there were several other people in the park, police are appealing to witnesses to contact them at 905-546-4962 or CrimeStoppers.

The suspect is described as having a medium complexion, in his mid 20’s, 5’9 with a slim build. He has short black hair and a thin beard, he was wearing cargo shorts and running shoes.
