Police investigate video of men throwing objects at vehicles on QEW

First Published:

Halton police are investigating after a video surfaced online that appears to show two men throwing objects at moving vehicles on the QEW in Burlington.

Police say the video was posted on Sunday and shows two men on the South Service Rd. throwing what appear to be eggs at vehicles travelling in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

The men can be seen repeatedly throwing the items and laughing as they attempt to hit the cars.

“This was an extremely dangerous and irresponsible act as vehicles travelling on the QEW are moving at least 100 km/h and this could have caused a motorist to panic and have resulted in a serious traffic collision on the QEW,” said Halton police in a news release.

Investigators say they have information related to the possible identities of the men.

Police are seeking any potential witnesses including motorists who were travelling on the eastbound lanes of the QEW just east of Guelph Line around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Ontario Provincial Police is also investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cst. Jon Daruwala at 905-825-4747, ext. 7512.
