Police investigate Oakville shooting

Halton police are investigating a shooting on Hilda Drive in Oakville.

On July 30, at around 3:50 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots being fired towards a residence on Hilda Drive. Police say a man and a woman were seen approaching the residence in a stolen Honda CRV with a Quebec licence plate.

The man was seen firing several rounds towards the residence before fleeing in the vehicle with the woman. Investigators determined that around ten rounds struck the front of the residence, causing damage to the front door and windows. No physical injuries were sustained as a result of the shooting.

On August 2nd, the Honda CRV used in the shooting was located by York Regional Police at a motel in Concord. Halton police attended the motel and arrested two people as they entered the stolen vehicle.

The two arrested have not been charged in relation to the shooting on July 30.

Abdinasir Aden, 20, of North York has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and fail to comply with release order.

Batoul Fathala, 19, of London has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police say they are still actively investigating the shooting on July 3o on Hilda Drive and are asking anyone with information or CCTV footage of the area to contact them.
