Pink Shirt Day: wearing pink to stop bullying

First Published:

Students and faculty in Hamilton are wearing pink shirts today to raise awareness against bullying.

Pink Shirt Day is recognized annually across Canada and the HWDSB along with the HWCDSB are taking on the mantra of the recent Review Panel report of “Building Healthy Relationships and Inclusive, Caring Learning Environments.”

Manny Figueiredo, Director of Education said in a memo “As a Board, we believe in creating and maintaining a positive culture to support well-being for everyone. We know that some communities face bullying at higher rates than others, namely those who are members of racialized or 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. This must stop.”

You can share your Pink Shirt Day pictures by using #pinkshirtday.
