Pedestrian struck and killed by pickup truck on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a pickup truck in Niagara Falls early Friday.

It happened at 5:50 a.m. on Lundy’s Lane near Kalar Rd.

Emergency crews responded to a 911 call for a serious collision involving a pedestrian and black Ford pickup truck.

A 79-year-old woman was found on scene in critical condition. First responders attempted to resuscitate the victim but she was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Her identity is not being released as police attempt to locate and notify the next of kin.

The 66-year-old driver of the pickup truck remained on scene. No charges have been laid at this time.

The roads have been shutdown in the area while the Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit investigate the collision.

Police say the roads will be closed for a good portion of the morning and motorists should find alternative routes.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Niagara police.
