Pedestrian in hospital after being struck by vehicle in Acton

Halton police say one person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a vehicle hit them.

Officers said a vehicle travelling northbound on Eastern Ave. near York St. in Acton struck an adult pedestrian who was crossing the road around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The pedestrian was taken to Hamilton General Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Eastern Ave. north of York St. to Queen St. at York St. were closed for an investigation, but have since reopened.
