The Pan Am torch relay comes to the Hamilton and Niagara areas this weekend.

The relay begins today in Kitchener and Cambridge with the flame traveling to Brantford.

It will then head south to the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation outside of Hagersville this afternoon.  The Mississaugas of the New Credit are the host First Nation of the Games, with their traditional territory in the Toronto area.

The torch will then make its way to the Sound of Music Festival at Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park around 6:30 pm.

Tomorrow sees the torch in Niagara, starting off in Welland, with stops in St. Catharines, Port Dalhousie, and Niagara Falls.

Sunday it starts in Winona, travelling through Stoney Creek to Hamilton’s Gage Park just after 1:00.  Then it’s off to Ancaster, Dundas, and Waterdown.

Monday the torch makes a brief appearance at Hamilton’s Pan Am soccer stadium before jetting off to Manitoba.
