The Pan Am games are fast approaching and on Saturday, cities across the country were getting into the spirit.

Over a hundred Burlington residents took part in “Pan Am Day” at LaSalle Park.

The fun filled event featured a 1km colour run, a 16 metre long slip-and-slide, and a variety of sports that will be played at the upcoming games.

Organizers say today’s event was not just about having fun, but also about building an appreciation for all athletes.

The pan am games are less than a month away.

The two week long international event starts on July 10th, while the Para-Pan Am games kick off on August 7th.
