Ottawa police arrest protesters including three convoy organizers

First Published:

Three of the main organizers of the protest in downtown Ottawa have been arrested as police continue to make arrests on the streets near Parliament Hill.

Tamara Lich is charged with counselling to commit mischief, while Chris Barber is facing that same charge as well as charges of counselling to commit mischief, counselling to disobey a court order and counselling to obstruct police. Through his Facebook page, Pat King also claimed he was arrested today.

Officers are once again advising protesters to leave now and said that some are surrendering and being arrested. Over 100 people are been arrested and several vehicles have been towed from the area.

Ottawa police interim chief Steve Bell told a news conference Friday afternoon that clearing the area will take time, but the operation is “deliberate and methodical” and police are in control on the ground.
