OPP warning of “dangerous game” on Norfolk County roads

First Published:

Norfolk County OPP is warning about a dangerous game that could have serious consequences.

This after an incident Sunday night on Norfolk County Rd. 23 in Houghton.

Police say a 56-year-old driver was travelling along the road at 8 p.m. when they had to swerve to avoid hitting a group of teens who were sitting in the middle of the road.

“It appears that the teenagers would sit in the roadway and move at the last minute as vehicles approached ultimately playing chicken with the motoring public,” said police in a news release.

“This not only put their lives in danger, it also puts unsuspecting drivers and passengers in the vehicle in danger.”

OPP are encouraging parents and caregivers to talk to their kids about the dangers of doing something like this.
