OPP raid a million dollar home on Jerseyville Road

First Published:

On June 7th, neighbours watched as Brant County OPP raided the property at 218 Jerseyville rd.

Jessica Korchowiec snapped a picture, as officers decked out in Hazmat suits came and went from the rural home. “I saw OPP officers in hazmat suits coming in and out of the house, coming in one tent, and coming out in a different suit like they were changing in it.”

Police arrested 27 year old Hamdi Jassem, 29 year old Dila Bataineh, and 34 year old Roger Vanevery all three are charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a firearm. Police seized an undisclosed amount of fentanyl and two guns. The raid took all day because of how dangerous fentanyl is.

Neighbours we spoke to say the only issue they had with the people who lived here was that they didn’t control their vicious and aggressive dogs and had to call the SPCA a number of times.

Area residents have said there was always a lot of people coming and going from the home, but they never suspected their neighbours were involved with drugs.
