OPP investigates after road sign lighting damaged, stolen twice

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after road sign lighting in Burgessville was vandalized twice in one week.

Oxford OPP was contacted on Nov. 27 after someone damaged the lights above a road sign at the intersection of Middleton Line and Gunn’s Hill Rd.

“The lights were replaced immediately, only to be damaged and removed the following night,” said OPP in a news release. “These lights are in place for the safety of everyone travelling these roadways, in order to prevent collisions.”

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

OPP is reminding residents that if you see something suspicious to contact police immediately.
