Ontario is reporting 864 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and three more deaths related to the virus.

The data is based on more than 34,365 tests completed on the previous day.

The province says 35,463 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of nearly 21.3 million.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 84.7 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and nearly 78.5 per cent have two doses.

There are currently 191 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 120 on ventilators.

The province says of those in hospital, 261 are unvaccinated individuals, 19 are partially vaccinated and 42 are fully vaccinated.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least seven are in an outbreak including The Wellington Nursing Home in Hamilton, R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls, and Hampton Terrace Care Centre in Burlington.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
