Ontario is reporting more than 800 new cases of COVID-19 over the last two days.

The province says 390 cases were reported Tuesday and 458 were reported on Monday.

The data is based on 39,065 tests completed over the two days.

The province says two more people have died as a result of the virus.

There have been 5,512 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine administered in the last 24-hour period and 12,213 doses given between Sunday and Monday.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says a total of more than 22 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Elliott says 87 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 82 per cent have two doses.

Elliott says 155 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. There are currently 149 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 104 on ventilators.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least 12 are in an outbreak including R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
