Ontario is reporting 84 new COVID-19-related deaths Monday and 370 more cases.
It brings the provincial totals to 1,300 deaths and nearly 18,000 confirmed cases.
The new total number of cases is 2.1 per cent higher than Sunday, which continues to show a downward trend.
There are now 12,505 resolved cases which represent almost 70 per cent of all of Ontario’s cases.
The province says 984 people have been hospitalized with the virus. There are 225 patients in intensive care units and of those people, 175 are on a ventilator to assist with breathing.
Data related to COVID-19 in long-term care comes from a different database than the provincial totals. It shows five more outbreaks have been reported for a total of 175, and 18 more deaths have occurred for a total of 972.
More than 340,000 tests have been completed in the province since Jan. 15, with 14,555 being done in the last 24 hours. There are currently 6,265 cases still under investigation.
As of Sunday, Hamilton had 454 cases of COVID-19, Niagara Region had 518, and Halton Region had 538 including 62 probable cases.
