Ontario reports 4,156 COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths

Ontario reported 4,156 cases of COVID-19 and 28 deaths on Wednesday, as hospitalizations and patients in ICU continue to climb.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 54,211 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were performed is 8.6 per cent.

There are 1,877 people in hospital across the province, up from 1,822 reported on Tuesday.

There are 642 patients in intensive care with 442 of them on ventilators.

  • 14,582 total cases — up 201 from Tuesday
  • 12,790 resolved cases
  • 1,224 active cases
  • 111 in hospital
  • 337 deaths

  • 50 in hospital
  • 378 deaths  — up one from Tuesday

Brant

  • 2,192 total cases — up 55 from Tuesday
  • 1,951 resolved cases
  • 227 active cases
  • 14 deaths
  • 12 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,880 total cases  — up 32 from Tuesday
  • 1,644 resolved cases
  • 191 active cases
  • 40 deaths

Six Nations (**last updated Apr. 13)

  • 447 total cases
  • 434 resolved cases
  • 4 active cases
  • 0 in hospital
  • 10 deaths  — up one from Monday

 

The province administered a record 112,817 vaccine doses on Tuesday, for a total of 3,422,974 doses.

There are 337,206 people in the province who are fully vaccinated.

Another 3,160 cases have been marked as resolved.
