Ontario announced 347 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, marking a 2.3 per cent increase over Tuesday.
Forty-five more deaths have been reported, bringing the provincial total to 996.
There have been 15,728 confirmed cases of the virus in Ontario since Jan. 15.
The province says 9,612 of those cases are now resolved.
More than 260,000 tests have been completed since Jan. 15 with 11,554 being done on Tuesday. Nearly 10,000 tests are currently under investigation.
The report says 977 people are in hospital, with 235 in intensive care units and of those patients, 186 are on a ventilator to assist with breathing.
Five more outbreaks of COVID-19 have been declared at long-term care homes in the province, bringing to total number to 181.
