Ontario reports 3,326 COVID-19 cases, 62 deaths

Ontario reported 3,326 cases of COVID-19 and 62 deaths on Thursday, as the new stay-at-home order comes into effect.

The numbers come as the province completed 71,169 tests.

Another 14,237 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered across the province by 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Overall, 159,021 doses of the vaccine have been administered with nearly 13,300 total vaccinations completed.

Local numbers will be added when public health units update their data.

Niagara

  • 6,110 total cases — up 131 from Wednesday
  • 4,364 resolved cases
  • 1,538 active cases
  • 208 deaths — up three from Wednesday
  • 80 in hospital

Hamilton

  • 7,823 total cases — up 103 from Wednesday
  • 6,307 resolved cases
  • 1,038 active cases
  • 209 deaths — up three from Wednesday
  • 102 in hospital

Halton

  • 7,284 total cases — up 65 from Wednesday
  • 6,590 resolved cases
  • 557 active cases
  • 137 deaths — up one from Wednesday
  • 38 in hospital

Brant

  • 1,216 total cases — up 33 from Wednesday
  • 1,053 resolved cases
  • 157 active cases
  • 6 deaths
  • 2 in hospital
  • 54 vaccinations administered

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,151 total cases — up 13 from Wednesday
  • 947 resolved cases
  • 163 active cases
  • 36 deaths

Six Nations

  • 125 total cases
  • 117 resolved cases
  • 7 active cases
  • 1 death

Another 3,593 cases of the virus have been marked as resolved.

There are 1,657 patients in hospital with COVID-19 in Ontario. There are 388 in intensive care with 280 of them on ventilators.

The death toll is 5,189 people.
