Ontario reports 296 COVID-19 cases, 60 deaths

Ontario reported 296 cases of COVID-19 and 60 deaths on Tuesday, but officials say these numbers include data corrections.

Health officials say 80 cases have been added to Toronto Public Health’s case count, while 54 of the reported deaths are from previous months and are part of a separate data clean-up.

The reported positivity rate is 1.6 per cent, with 16,784 tests completed in the last day.

  • 21,162 total cases — up 12 from Monday
  • 20,160 resolved cases
  • 139 active cases
  • 33 in hospital
  • 399 deaths

Niagara

  • 16,145 total cases — up seven from Monday
  • 15,518 resolved cases
  • 215 active cases
  • 412 deaths  — up one from Monday
  • 24 in hospital

Brant

  • 3,390 total cases  — up one from Monday
  • 3,351 resolved cases
  • 19 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 5 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,696 total cases
  • 2,607 resolved cases
  • 36 active cases
  • 47 deaths

Six Nations

  • 527 total cases
  • 515 resolved cases
  • 1 active cases
  • 0 in hospital
  • 11 deaths

Another 199,535 vaccine doses were administered in the province on Monday.

There are 3,145,372 people in Ontario who have received both required doses.

There are 334 people in hospital with the virus across the province. There are 256 patients in ICU due to COVID-related issues with 202 of them on ventilators.

Another 442 cases have been marked as resolved.
