Ontario is reporting 218 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and three more deaths.
The data is based on 19,400 completed tests.
This is the first time the province has reported over 200 cases in more than three weeks.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 38 new cases in Toronto, 38 in Peel Region, 19 in the Region of Waterloo and 13 in Grey Bruce.
There are currently 121 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 79 on ventilators.
The province says 89,157 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Wednesday for a total of nearly 19.3 million.
Elliott says more than 80 per cent of people in the province aged 12 and older have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least four are in an outbreak including Arbour Creek Long-Term Care Centre in Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Fox Ridge Care Community in Brantford, and The Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
