Ontario reports 2,073 COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths

Ontario reports 2,073 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths on Tuesday, as vaccinations open to “at risk health conditions.”

The reported positivity rate is 8.5 per cent, while the province completed 28,109 tests in the last day.

Hamilton

  • 18,707 total cases — up 94 from Monday
  • 16,933 resolved cases
  • 1,048 active cases
  • 135 in hospital
  • 369 deaths

Halton

  • 16,272 total cases — up 98 from Monday
  • 15,276 resolved cases
  • 778 active cases
  • 69 in hospital
  • 218 deaths

Niagara

  • 14,868 total cases — up 80 from Monday
  • 12,807 resolved cases
  • 1,664 active cases
  • 58 in hospital
  • 397 deaths  — up one from Monday

Brant

  • 2,942 total cases — up 33 from Monday
  • 2,758 resolved cases
  • 164 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 9 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,473 total cases — up 18 from Monday
  • 2,229 resolved cases
  • 198 active cases
  • 41 deaths

There were 112,103 vaccine doses administered on Monday. There are 396,787 people in the province who have received both required doses.

There are 1,782 patients in hospital with COVID-19 across the province. There are 802 in ICU with 568 of them on ventilators.

Another 2,898 cases have been marked as resolved.
