Ontario reports 1,780 new COVID-19 cases, 25 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,780 new cases of COVID-19 and 25 deaths.

Numbers reported Friday come as the province completed 56,001 tests, with another 62,403 under investigation.

The province marked another 1,553 cases as resolved.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 40 active cases

Brant: 7 new cases, 64 active cases, 8 in hospital

Niagara: 21 new cases, 204 active cases, 2 deaths, 10 in hospital

Halton: 75 new cases, 794 active cases, 1 death, 15 in hospital

 

There are 674 patients in hospital with COVID-19 across the province. There are 207 in intensive care with 116 of those on ventilators.
