Ontario reports 1,747 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths on Sunday

Ontario reported 1,747 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths on Sunday.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 47,600 tests.

Another 1,167 cases were marked as resolved.

The province is saying that today’s case numbers inflated due to data catch-up process related to the provincial CCM system.

Local numbers will be added when public health units report their data.

  • 11,241 total cases — up 83 from Saturday
  • 10,262 resolved cases
  • 509 active cases
  • 295 deaths

Niagara

  • 8,924 total cases — up 33 from Saturday
  • 8,291 resolved cases
  • 260 active cases
  • 10 in hospital
  • 373 deaths
  • 13,250 vaccine doses given

Halton

  • 10,000 total cases — up 23 from Saturday
  • 9,509 resolved cases
  • 293 active cases
  • 19 in hospital
  • 198 deaths
  • 206 total variant cases
  • 40,922 vaccine doses given (as of Thursday)

Brant

  • 1,604 total cases
  • 1,1516 resolved cases
  • 76 active cases
  • 12 deaths
  • 1 in hospital
  • 14,965 vaccine doses given; 2,548 people fully vaccinated

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 1,502 total cases — up five from Thursday
  • 1,414 resolved cases
  • 44 active cases
  • 39 deaths
  • 12,157 vaccine doses given; 1,589 people fully vaccinated
