Ontario reports 143 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, 10 deaths

Ontario is reporting 143 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and ten additional deaths.

The data is based on more than 31,300 completed tests.

The province has now reported fewer than 200 new infections for one week straight.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 25 new cases in the Region of Waterloo, 25 in Grey Bruce and 20 in Toronto.

There are currently 168 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 114 on ventilators.

Elliott says 166,201 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Wednesday for a total of more than 17.6 million.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, four are in an outbreak.
