Ontario government to unveil throne speech today

First Published:

The Ontario government will unveil its throne speech today, outlining its legislative agenda for the upcoming session.

The throne speech will be followed by the Progressive Conservative government’s budget, which is expected to be largely unchanged from when it was introduced, but not passed, before the spring election.

Premier Doug Ford has only signaled that one change in the budget would be a five per cent increase to Ontario Disability Support Program rates.

Yesterday the legislature resumed and Ted Arnott was reelected as speaker.

Tomorrow, question period will resume. Opposition parties are expected to press Ford’s government about a variety of issues.
