With less than a week to go before election day, most of the party leaders were focussing their attention on our area today.

Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner was in Hamilton’s Gage Park Friday morning. He said if he wins the election he will make public transit a priority and triple transit use in the next decade.

Schreiner says his party is the only one considering climate change, “despite what the other parties may or may not say, who are largely ignoring climate change in this campaign, we are in a climate emergency,” Schreiner said.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath was also in Hamilton today. She took shots at both the liberals and conservatives for the state of the province.

Steven Del Duca spent time in Mississauga and Brampton with the strong message, no to Highway 413. Del Duca says Hwy 413 would cost every Ontario taxpayer about $2,000 if it is built.

In Oakville, the Operating Engineers Local 793 which represents 18,000 members in the province were endorsing Ford’s construction plan. Ford is accusing the other parties of giving up on workers, “we can’t let the liberals take us back, and we can’t let the NDP hold the spot while they’re saying no, we’re saying yes.”

After spending time in Hamilton today, both Doug Ford and Andrea Horwath also made stops in Paris this afternoon.

Doug Ford will be holding a rally in Kitchener tonight at 7:00 p.m.
