Ontario has announced 379 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, marking a nearly nine per cent increase from Monday.
There are now 4,726 cases of the virus province-wide.
The provincial tally includes 1,802 resolved cases and 153 deaths.
More than 80,000 tests have been completed since Jan. 15 and 691 are currently under investigation.
The province says 614 are in hospital as a result of the virus and 233 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of those in the ICU, 187 are on a ventilator to assist with breathing.
There are 51 long-term care homes in Ontario with one or more cases of COVID-19, and there have been at least 69 deaths in those institutions.
More than 500 healthcare workers in the province have tested positive, representing about 11 per cent of all of the confirmed cases in Ontario.
On Monday, the city of Hamilton declared an outbreak at St. Joseph’s hospital’s special care nursery after three workers tested positive for the virus.

There are 17,049 confirmed cases in Canada, including 345 deaths.
Quebec has the highest total number of cases with 8,580 infected patients.
