A heavy police presence was on scene at No 2 Side Road in Burlington this evening for a homicide investigation.

A woman was found with injuries after being shot and was pronounced dead on scene. A male was taken into custody.

No. 2 Side Road was closed between Guelph Line and Cedar Springs Road.

There is no threat to the public and it is believed the man and woman knew each other.
