One in custody after a train and car collide in Hamilton

A 19 year old man is in custody following a collision between a train and car at the rail crossing at Cochrane rd, south of Lawrence rd. in Hamilton.

Police say the person of interest received minor injuries. The vehicle was struck by the train and rolled into the ditch off the side of the tracks.

 

Cochrane rd is closed at the train tracks, expect delays in the area.

 

Residents are still trying to get barricades installed on the tracks to prevent people from trying to beat the train.
