Obese yet fit

Not all obese people are at an increased risk of developing chronic disease like diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

Researchers say they’ve discovered a subset of obese people who are metabolically healthy and have a higher level of fitness than most obese people.

This group was found to have a 38% lower risk of premature death from any cause than their obese peers, similar to that of healthy people with a normal weight.
