Oakville teen charged in sexual assault, police believe there may be more victims

A 19-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a sexual assault in Oakville.

Kanv Suri, of Oakville, was arrested on Monday after police executed a search warrant at a home and located two replica firearms.

Suri has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon and utter threat to cause death or bodily harm.

Police say the teen also goes by the name “Tony.”

Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

“Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated,” said Halton police in a news release. “ A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.”

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Det. Keith Nakahara of the Child and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777. ext. 8980.

Police are reminding residents there is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. No matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
