Oakville man charged with assault, forcible confinement

An Oakville man is facing charges after a woman was assaulted in Burlington.

The 18-year-old woman was out for a walk along Palladium Way on Sunday.

The woman told police she saw a grey minivan drive past her slowly a few times.

She was suddenly grabbed from behind.

According to police, a man put one hand over her mouth and grabbed her around the waist while trying to drag her into a forested area.

The woman struggled and managed to get away while screaming for help.

The man ran back towards a grey minivan and drove away.

She was able to get cell phone video of the vehicle taking off and called police.

Officers arrested Tanos El-Khoury outside his Oakville home.

The 41-year-old is charged with forcible confinement and assault.
