Oakville man charged after spitting in officer’s face

A 32-year-old man from Oakville has been charged following an incident that lead him to spit in the face of an officer.

Halton Police responded to reports of an intoxicated man who was swearing at locals in the area of 2325 Trafalgar Road around 7:00 p.m. yesterday. Reports say that the man, identified as Scott MacIntyre, was drinking an open can of beer and was sticking his head into people’s vehicles.

Officers were able to stop him near the intersection of Iroquois Shore Road and Trafalgar Road. Police say that MacIntyre responded by assaulting an officer. The officer then arrested MacIntyre but while he was being detained the 32-year-old continued attempts to fight. That is when he spat in the officer’s face.

MacIntyre has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Cause Disturbance, Fail to Comply with Probation and Public Intoxication.
