Oakville Fire Dept continues to investigate cause of early morning house fire

An early morning house fire in Oakville results in hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

The Oakville Fire Department responded to the fire on Tuesman Way around 9:00 a.m. this morning. This picture taken from a viewer video shows extensive amounts of smoke coming from the home.

Town of Oakville Platoon Chief Mike Coyne told CHCH News that upon arrival crews found the fire coming from the laundry room. However, officials are not able to confirm at this time the cause. Fire was able to arrive on scene and extinguish the fire before it could spread to other homes.

Police say that the residents were home at the time of the fire. Fortunately, everybody was evacuated safely and there were no injuries.
