Search goes on for missing nine year-old in Lake Erie

First Published:

The search for a nine year-old boy in the frigid waters of Lake Erie is now being considered a recovery mission.  The youngster fell through the ice at Peacock Point just before the dinner hour Saturday.  An eight year-old boy, who also went through the ice, was rescued by a passerby who had been flagged down by a 10 year-old girl who was with them. She is the sister of the drowning victim.  Their grandfather assisted in his rescue.  The surviving youngster remains in hospital in fair condition. Ontario Provincial Police warn the public to stay off the ice since it is fragile and unsafe.
