‘Worst I’ve seen!’ Niagara drivers combat potholes

Hamilton isn’t the only area experiencing problems with a growing number of potholes. Drivers in Niagara Falls are also complaining about a rougher than normal ride, making for a stressful and sometimes costly commute.

Drivers in the Falls rank Mcleod and Dorchester road as two of the worst in the city for potholes and the fluctuating temperatures aren’t helping..

“Just the volume of traffic creates a higher demand on the road and it seems to break up when we have a lot of freeze, thaw.”

Marianne Tikky, the manager of roadways for Niagara Falls, says if a pothole causes damage to your vehicle, report it. But ultimately she says drivers must remain aware of the road conditions and change their speed accordingly.
