Niagara police to share details on major drug bust Thursday

Niagara police are expected to release the details Thursday on a major investigation in the region called “Project Gateway.”

Investigators from Niagara Regional Police, Peel Regional Police and the Hamilton-Niagara Detachment of the RCMP launched the investigation in the fall of 2021.

Officers closed the case two weeks ago with the execution of 12 search warrants and 175 police and immigration officers involved.

Niagara police say multiple people were arrested, 120 charges were laid and a large quantity of cocaine and cannabis were seized.

Officers in Niagara will share more information about the investigation on Thursday.
