Niagara police investigate robbery in St. Catharines

Niagara police are looking for a man after a St. Catharines business was robbed on Wednesday.

Police were called to the area of Merritt St. and Glendale Ave. around 3:30 p.m.

Investigators say the thief fled the scene before officers arrived. No one was physically hurt during the incident.

Members of the police K9 Unit searched the area but could not find the suspect.

He is described as white, heavyset and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black sweat pants, white running shoes, and black, red, and white gloves.

Police have released two images of the suspect in hopes someone may recognize him.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, and badge number 9461.
