Niagara police investigate assault in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police Service is investigating after a woman was found with multiple injuries at a home in St. Catharines.

Police responded to a weapons call at a resident near Niagara St. and Church St. around 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

Officers found a 46-year-old woman suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Niagara Health System where she was treated and released.

Police say the woman was assaulted after a verbal altercation with another woman turned violent. They say the only description they have of the suspect is that she is approximately 30 years old.

Niagara police are currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
