Niagara-on-the-Lake kicks off the summer season

First Published:

The May long weekend is being called the unofficial start of summer with warmer weather bringing out many families.

Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake was bustling with tourists and locals.

Restaurants and hotels were packed with guests, and some were fully booked, like the Prince of Wales Hotel, “this is the first time since covid has ended that we’ve seen such a robust turnout.”

Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake says it’s a good start to the summer after the past two years.

Minerva Ward of Tourism NOTL said, “it is good to see even the tour busses coming back from the U.S. and across Canada. We are highly reliant on tourism to drive the economy.”

Businesses are hoping it keeps getting busier in the months ahead.
