Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati joined us for his weekly update on the city, including what is happening in the Falls for New Year’s Eve.
Niagara Falls Music Week Live is on right now in the Falls, where 75 performances will be done at 20 different venues until Saturday. Tomorrow night for New Year’s Eve Blue Rodeo is playing at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre. Capacity limits will be lowered, and just like movie theatres and sporting events, there will be no food or drink allowed.
“I can assure you that we are following very strict protocols in terms of COVID.” said Mayor Diodati.
“We want everyone to go away with great memories, great New Year’s resolutions, and nothing more.”
Fireworks are happening all week at 10pm, but on NYE fireworks will be going off at 9pm and midnight. You can either watch them outdoors, from your car or from the window of your hotel room if you are staying in Niagara Falls.
Mayor Jim Diodati also talked about Erika Casupanan, who hails from Niagara Falls, and is the first Canadian to ever win Survivor. In the new year they will do something special to recognize her accomplishment so stay tuned for details on that.
