After the heavy snow storm that swept across the GTHA and surrounding areas, Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati is asking all of its residents to be patient as the city tries to plow the streets. Expect delays as well as delays with garbage pick-up.
Diodati says he expects all roads to be plowed by the end of the day today (Tuesday Jan. 18). He says city hall will only be open today for essential services.
“Today at noon we are going to open up our mass vaccination clinics at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre for anyone that was supposed to come yesterday,” said Diodati. “We are scrambling to get things open… schools are closed right now in town and we’re asking people, please, unless you need to go out, stay home.”
He says all garbage pick up has been delayed by a day and is asking the public to be patient.
“We’ve got snow plows getting stuck, and we’re going to have garbage trucks having those same challenges,” said Diodati.
