Niagara Falls man charged after vehicle crashes and bursts into flames

A Niagara Falls man is facing charges after a vehicle crashed and then caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of Margaret St. and Warden Ave. for reports of a single-vehicle collision around 2:30 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and the driver had fled the scene.

He was located and arrested a short distance away before being transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Cid Segovia, 29, has been charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop or remain and obstruct peace officer.

He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 13.
