Next phase of the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out in Ontario

First Published:

Ontario’s health minister says the province can’t release detailed timelines for its vaccine rollout because the supply of the shots has been unreliable.

Christine Elliott says the province knows which age groups it wants to prioritize but delayed deliveries and unclear future supply levels mean its tentative schedule has been changing.

The province expects to receive approximately 157,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Wednesday.

It hopes local health units will begin vaccinating more than 600,000 seniors by Mar. 1.

Elliott says after that it’s not immediately clear what shipment levels will look like in the coming weeks

Nicole Martin has the details.
