New texting tool helps Ontarians find closest vaccine sites

First Published:

Two Ontarians have created a texting tool that finds the closest vaccine sites near you.

Co-founder of Lazer Technologies, Zain Manji, got inspired yesterday after seeing a tweet about a tool in the United States that helps its residents find vaccine shots.

Manji and his friend, Ashish Yelekar, started to work on a texting system for people in Ontario. They had the tool running within hours.

In order to use the tool, residents can send their postal code to +1 (833) 356-1683.

Residents will then receive a an automatic response with the address and phone number of two to three locations closest to them.

As of now, the feature is only available to Ontarians. Manji says he plans to expand the service across the country.
